Robert Hughes is a certified clinical hypnotherapist and Board Certified consulting hypnotist. He has been in continuous full time hypnotherapy
practice in Boise since 1994 and has done guided imagery and hypnosis since
1970 on three continents in two languages.
- He has been a Board Certified Consulting Hypnotist, the highest competence rank of the National Guild
of Hypnotists (NGH), since 2005. NGH is the world's largest organization of
hypnotists, and board certification places Robert in an elite group that
includes 200 of the world's best consulting hypnotists.
- He has also been certified by the National Board for
Hypnotherapy and Hypnotic
Anesthesia (NBHA) since 1995. NBHA is the
premier national organization which certifies hypnotherapists with a primary
interest in complementary medicine applications of hypnosis such as smoking
cessation, painless childbirth, pain control, fears and phobias and
medical/dental hypnosis.
In addition to being board certified as a clinical
hypnotherapist, Robert is also board certified by the NBHA as a:

- Hypnotherapy Instructor
Perhaps his proudest
accomplishment has been teaching hypnosis and hypnotherapy to dedicated groups
of students who are carrying on his work in Seattle, Salem, Boise and other
places in the Northwest.
- The Idaho School of Professional Hypnotherapy, which Robert founded, is certified by NBHA to
train clinical hypnotherapists.
- Five of his students have
either achieved or are in process of achieving Board Certification as
consulting hypnotists by the National Guild of Hypnotists, and several others
are qualified to sit for the examinations
Other training and teaching
accomplishments include:
- Reiki
Master Teacher in the Usui Reiki
tradition and is a member of an extended inter-state Reiki energy group.
- Trained
and certified as a Massage Therapist.
- Certified
to teach non-violent Karatedo Doshinkan - which he has studied for over 25 years. He is ranked as a 6th
degree black belt with the teaching title of Renshi.
- Studied
two other martial arts, Aikido (5
years) and Tai Chi (2
years).

as an Interfaith Minister through
the Congregational Church of Practical Theology.
